You can catch her at the Professional Studies and Fine Arts College Council meetings, around the School of Journalism and Media Studies and most certainly at our meetings. She’s got ambitious plans to serve our Chapter (as well as delicious restaurant suggestions) up her sleeve. We’d like to introduce you to our President Vivian Vy Lam.

How would you describe yourself?

Lively. Driven. Passionate. I throw myself into everything I do with a smile. I hope to inspire others with my enthusiasm for the future. I love talking to people about their passions and getting to know who they are, aside from their favorite color. I enjoy discovering new cafes, dessert shops and interesting restaurants. I'm also improving my photography skills. I like to say that I know myself pretty well but you never know, I'll probably discover more of myself later!

How do you serve our Chapter?

As the president of our PRSSA Chapter, I will be keeping our executive board and our Chapter on track with our mission and purpose. Bringing our members professional development opportunities is our biggest priority. I also plan on supporting the other executive board members with their own goals for our Chapter.

What should members reach out to you for?

Members can reach out to me for anything! I’m open to help the members by connecting them to other students and faculty or discussing my experience with social media for non-profit organizations. I always have the time to reply to your emails, chat on the phone or meet up in person.

How does PRSSA inspire you?

I've always been an ambitious person and, sometimes, it can be a bit much. However, I've found like-minded people in our Chapter who inspire me to be unapologetic about my goals and ambitions. In fact, they push me to be better. I hope to encompass this feeling and spread it to the rest of our members. We're not here to compete with each other but to push and pull each other in terms of professional development.

What are your career aspirations?

I would love to work in-house for a corporation in the future. While working in an agency would be extremely fun and diverse, I want to know a brand so well that I could tell you the HEX color code numbers of the logo. I'm a one-brand type of girl.

If you have any questions about PRSSA, getting more involved in our Chapter or PR in general, feel free to email Vivian at lamvivian0602@gmail.com or chat with her after our meetings. We can't wait to take on this year with you!
